an old rec.games.frp.dnd thread that was started years ago.)

Are you a Real Fan, a Stoner Fan, a Poser Fan, or an Insane Fan?

Favorite Albums:

Real Fans like Animals and WYWH.
Stoner Fans like Meddle and ASOS.
Poser Fans like AMLoR and DSOTM.
Insane Fans like Atom Heart Mother and Ummagumma.

Favorite Floyd Solo Effort:

Real Fans like all Waters solo except for TWLiB, which sucked because
there were too many mainstream musicians on it.
Stoner Fans like TWLiB, but only because of the really cool puppets
and lights and shit.
Poser Fans like Gilmour solo, especially Blue Light.
Insane Fans like Rick Wright solo.

Best Part About "The Wall" movie:

Real Fans like Alan Parker's stylish directing and Bob Geldof's
magnificent portrayal of the anguish Pink endures.
Stoner Fans like the cool Scarfe cartoons that look like really freaky
acid trips, dude!.
Poser Fans like the part where Bob Hoskins says "FUCK ME!" because VH-1
always bleeps it out and they finally saw it on video and it's
SOOOO COOL!.
Insane Fans like the part where the schoolmaster is smacking his wife's
arse with a bullwhip.

Reading AMPF Posts:

Real Fans read only posts by Mark Brown, Dave Ward, and (if they feel
really zany that day) John Wiklund.
Stoner Fans read posts by Kenichi (for laugh factor only), Kyla, and
Shari G.
Poser Fans read every post in the fucking newsgroup and reply to each
one in turn. They also misquote lyrics in their .sig files (as
noted below).
Insane Fans read all of Dave Lynch's posts, most of St. &reux's, and of
course the occasional Rick Matias rant.

Concert Experiences:

Real Fans would go to a Floyd concert in hopes of hearing them do some
rare Syd-era material or early Roger, but refuse to attend
post-Waters concerts because Gilmour sucks.
Stoner Fans would go to any concert provided they could smoke out, take
a tab, and get to see the big pig puppets and cool lights.
Poser Fans would jump at the chance to go to a concert so they could hear
AMLoR and TDB songs and constantly shout "PLAY MOOOONNNEEEEYYY!"
at the band.
Insane Fans would go in hopes of hearing the Band do Atom Heart Mother a
la Trance Remixes. But only if Rog was there.

Enigma Discussion:

Real Fans scrutinize all Enigma messages with the exception of Genesis and
Shadow, who are obviously *snicker* hoaxes riding on Publius's coat
tails in search of glory. Jury still out on Amicus.
Stoner Fans don't really care about the Enigma because it requires too much
conscious thought.
Poser Fans deny the Enigma when people flame it, but post follow-ups to all
the Genesis messages about possible "clues".
Insane Fans think the Enigma is part of a great conspiracy by alien robots
to control the universe and steal everyone's slack.

.sig files:

Real Fans don't use .sig files, because they clog bandwidth and no one reads
them anyway, so they're pointless.
Stoner Fans either put stupid quotes or drug-related jokes in their .sigs.
Poser Fans quote AMLoR songs but always get at least two words of each verse
quoted wrong (usually more)
Insane Fans include quotes from obscure television shows and movies no one
has ever heard of, then get mad when everyone misses the references.

It seems I'm a toss up between a real fan and insane fan...

The poser and stoner I didn't chose once I think...

But...I do like David Gilmours Guitar work, just not his voice xD;

I preffered rogers voice, It was eerie...to me at least...

My favourite albums are Wish you were here and Atom Heart Mother.

My fav solo carreers of thiers, well...I don't really care for them that much, but I guess Rogers...Just cause I like wierd stuff..

My favourite part of the wall was The Trial...Check the above post for reason. xD

My Sig, It's only a Denness.net Sig, 400 Characters max for sig makes it hard to fit something nice and long.

I've never been to a pink floyd concert...I wish though, *sigh* I've never been to ANY concert for that matter...I could have gone to see April Wine the day after my birthday last year, but alas I was turning one to little years old.

And of course...the enigma thing...I'm paranoid about almost every little thing...so the aliens kinda sound like the right way to go...meh.

All in all...I'm insane for Pink floyd xD

Hey, I resent that. That was only my, er... fifth Pink Floyd album. Right after Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Echoes, and TDB, in that order.

Favorite Albums:
ASOS, AHM, AMLoR, TDB, Animals, Meddle... What's that make me?

Favorite Floyd Solo Effort:
Roger Waters, especially Radio K.A.O.S.

Random and sporadic. That's right.

Concert Experiences:
I'd kill to get tickets to any of them, but I'd probably most want to scan the AMLor/TDB tours, in light of the Enigma. Though, before the Enigma, I'd shoot for Syd era, for AHM era, or for Animals era.

Enigma Discussion:
That's a toughie. I think that everything up to this current point in time, and maybe everything in the future, is involved somehow.

.sig Files:
I don't include one. I don't have the patience to make one. Though, if I did, it would probably be thus:

Im a Real Insane Stoner Fan, with an Enigma Complex, I own every album of PF and am currently looking for The Pulse Tapes DVDs home videos and Early Syd, Hell I want some sigma 6 Too. Good God I bought The soundtrack for "The Body" for "Give Birth to a Smile" but I was born too late to see them live, UNTIL LIVE 8.....But then I was too poor....Life is a bitch.
